La Quercia Estate: A Timeless Tuscan Villa

dolce far niente: “the sweetness of doing nothing.” An Italian way of life.

After a jam-packed summer of travel, I was thrilled to unwind in the heart of Tuscany for a week in October. My home for this enchanting escape was the stunning La Quercia Estate, a villa just outside Florence that perfectly encapsulates the beauty and charm of the region.

La Quercia Estate is a 300 sqm (3230 sqft) Tuscan villa that dates back to the 17th century. Built entirely using ancient terracotta and stones, the villa exudes historical elegance and timeless appeal. Purchased in 1963 by the renowned abstract painter Francesco Clemente, the estate still houses some of his captivating artwork, adding a unique cultural touch to its ambiance.

Nestled in Impruneta, a mere 1.5 km (half mile) from the town center, La Quercia Estate is perched on a hillock overlooking the breathtaking Chianti hills and is just 12 km (8 miles) from Florence. The location offers the perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility, allowing you to enjoy serene countryside views while being just a short drive from the vibrant city.

As you approach the villa, you’re greeted by a beautiful covered patio adorned with a dining table and bamboo furniture, creating an inviting space to relax and enjoy al fresco meals. On the backside of the villa, an open-air dining area with a round stone table sits in front of a sparkling swimming pool, framed by laurel and cypress hedges, offering a private oasis for swimming and sunbathing..

La Quercia Estate is set within the idyllic Tuscan Chianti countryside, surrounded by 20 acres of land cultivated with vines and olive trees. The estate produces exquisite San Giovese and Trebbiano wines, along with high-quality Extra Virgin Olive oil, allowing guests to savor the authentic flavors of Tuscany right at the source.

The villa boasts four double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, comfortably accommodating up to eight guests. The rooms are elegantly decorated, blending traditional Tuscan style with modern comforts to ensure a luxurious stay.

The Clemente family has lovingly restored this once-abandoned 1960s farmhouse into a stunning Tuscan retreat. During our stay, we were treated to a five-course traditional meal prepared by the host family, truly embodying the essence of la dolce vita. The meal was a culinary journey through Tuscany, featuring fresh, local ingredients and time-honored recipes that left us craving more.

Reflecting on my week at La Quercia Estate, I am filled with gratitude for the serene moments and the warm hospitality we experienced. This villa is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven that immerses you in the rich culture and natural beauty of Tuscany. For those looking to experience the best of Tuscany, La Quercia Estate is an unparalleled choice.

As a content creator, this stay offered endless opportunities to capture the enchanting essence of Tuscany. From the sun-dappled vineyards to the cozy interiors adorned with art, every corner of La Quercia Estate is a visual delight. Whether you’re a travel enthusiast or a brand looking for authentic and engaging content, this villa provides the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories and stunning visuals.

La dolce vita!
